Overview of the functions within the "Games/Apps" page of the web admin.

What we have done with the games list is provided a large catalog of games and apps with many settings pre-selected including game art, launcher settings, etc. This is in an effort to allow you to get up and running faster when setting up your LAN gaming location, cybercafe, or esports center.

Here is an overview of the abilities of the Games area. To access it in the web administrator, go to Settings > Client configuration > Games/Apps.

Search games & app field

The search box allows you to filter down to the game that you would like to edit or enable/disable in the ggLeap.

All Games button

It will show all available catalogs of games and apps that are added to our library.

It does hide all other catalogs when you are trying to search for something.

Enabled Games button

Clicking this button will only show the games you have enabled to be available in the ggLeap client user interface.

Note: Clicking the slide toggle located on the top left of the game/app box art will set it to Disable.

📥Installing the ggLeap Client

Accepted Answer

After you’ve subscribed to ggLeap, you’ll receive an email with a URL to set up your Web Administrator account. Once you create that account, you’ll be logged in automatically and ready to download the client.

1. Download the Installer

In the ggLeap Webadmin, navigate to Settings > Client Configuration > Download Installer
Save the installer (ggLeapClientSetup.exe) to your PC.

2. Run the Installer

Double-click the downloaded file to launch the setup.
If a User Account Control prompt appears, click Yes.
On the Welcome to ggLeap Setup screen, click Install.
Watch the progress bar as files are copied.

Preparing your site for a ggRock server involves careful planning of both hardware and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Below are the key requirements:

Electrical:

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS):
Use a dedicated UPS for the ggRock server to protect against power interruptions.
Recommended model: CyberPower OR1500LCDRT2U.
Redundant Power Supplies:
Equip the server with multiple power supply units for redundancy.
Ensure each power supply is connected to separate batteries within the UPS or to different UPS units.

Physical Network:

Server to Switch Connection:
Establish at least a 10 Gigabit connection between the ggRock server and the primary switch.
For larger deployments, consider 25 or 40 Gigabit connections to accommodate higher data throughput.
Switch Interconnections:
Ensure that any supporting switches also have a minimum of 10 Gigabit connections, especially between primary and secondary switches.
Client Network Connection:
Each client machine should have at least a 1 Gigabit network connection to maintain efficient data transfer.

The PC List page in the ggLeap Admin Panel gives staff an at-a-glance overview of all connected PCs and consoles. It enables real-time monitoring, remote control, and troubleshooting for each machine.

🖥️ How to Update the ggLeap Client Version Remotely

This article describes the process for remotely updating the ggLeap client across all client PCs in your center. Updates can be applied automatically and even while users are logged in—changes will take effect after logout.

🗂️ For PCs with Local Drives

Updating these systems is straightforward and does not interrupt active user sessions. The update will apply after the user logs out.

✅ Bulk Update via Web Admin

Go to Settings > Client Configuration > Version in the ggLeap web admin.
Select the PCs you want to update, or click Select all.
Click Change Version.

In the pop-out window, select the desired version type and click Apply.

Restart or boot the selected PCs to begin the update.

Updating Games, Apps, or Other Software with ggRock (from a ggRock VM) This article describes the general procedure for updating games, apps, or other software when using ggRock, using a ggRock VM.

Problem

A game, application, or other software package requires an update, however the installed update is removed (the system state is reverted) upon rebooting.

Solution

General Outline

Boot up the VM you would like to apply changes from
Install the update
Shut down the VM you would like to apply changes from
Commit Writebacks
Reboot all systems to ensure the changes propagate to them

Full Procedure

1. Create a VM.

Create (if not already created) and Turn On a ggRock VM with desired System Image and Games Image you with to apply updates to in local drives mode (This is for speed purposes - you could boot the VM in network mode, but it serves only to slow the process down here). (See the Virtual Machines Administration Manualfor more information). Additionally, please refer to "Controlling a Virtual Machine" for more information on how to control VMs.
