ggRock VM boot stuck on "Booting from SAN device 0x80"

Problem

Attempting to power on a VM results in the boot process hanging with an indefinite progress indicator from Windows, and/or "Booting from SAN device 0x80" as the last message before hanging.

Solution

1. Confirm which image is being used in the VM. (See Editing Virtual Machine Settingsfor more information.)
2. Confirm how the image was made (e.g. UEFI vs Legacy Mode) - that is to say, how was the BIOS of the Machine you used to create your image configured?
3. Attempt booting the VM in local drives mode, changing Boot Mode accordingly to match how the image was made. (See Editing Virtual Machine Settingsfor more information.)
4. Run the Image Creation tool inside the VM to update network configuration. (See Adding a New Machine Type to a ggRock Image using the ggRock Image Creation Tool (Deprecated)for more information.)
5. Apply writebacks. (See Applying Writebacks for more information).
6. Change the Boot Mode of the VM from Local Drives to Network and attempt boot again. (See Editing Virtual Machine Settingsfor more information.)

Additional Information

Under certain circumstances, it may be necessary to add network card information for the VM to your image using the ggRock Image Creation tool.
