📦I use a diskless boot (PXE) server, how do I upgrade ggLeap?
Many ggLeap customers use a PXE-boot server to push game-client and system updates.
Follow these steps to update your ggLeap client image.
Prerequisites âś…
- A PC configured as Superclient (with Keep Writeback enabled)
- “Can update client version” permission in ggLeap
- All other target machines powered off (recommended)
Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide
- Enable Superclient Mode/Keep Writeback mode
On one of your workstations, turn on Superclient mode/enable Keep Writeback.
Note the machine’s name or ID—you’ll use it again.
- Open Client Version Settings
- In the Dashboard, find your Superclient PC’s row.
- Click the three-dot Ellipsis ⋯ on the right.
- Choose Settings → Change client version.
- Select Desired ggLeap Version
- The version page will load, with your Superclient already pre-selected.
- Click Change Version, pick the new version from the list, and click Apply.
- Verify Upgrade on Superclient
- Allow the Superclient to reboot and finish updating.
- At the ggLeap login screen, confirm the version number in the lower-center area.
- Save and Exit Superclient Mode
- Power off the Superclient PC.
- Disable Superclient mode, apply or save the writeback to your OS image.
- Roll Out to Other Machines
- Power on the next machine (ensure it’s off before starting).
- Repeat Step 2 → Step 4 to update it to the same client version.
- Continue until all target PCs match the Superclient version.
Alternative Access
You can also reach the version settings via:
Settings → Client Configuration → VersionImportant Notes ⚠️
- Version Consistency
Always select the same version on every PC. Mismatched versions will cause boot loops.
- Machine Power State
Turning off non-Superclient PCs before you start prevents premature update triggers.
- PXE Variations
These steps apply to most PXE setups—your environment may differ slightly.
Required Permission:
- Can update client version
